Van den Bergh replaces Peter Wakkie, who announced his retirement from the Dutch retail giant in June.
Van den Bergh is currently partner and member of the managing committee of Amsterdam-based law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, where he leads the corporate practice.
