Dutch retailer Schuitema has reported a rise in quarterly profit and reiterated its outlook for “strong” profit growth for the full year.

Schuitema posted third-quarter profit after tax of €37m (US$43.3m), a rise of 30% compared to the year-ago period. Operating profit increased 21.9% to €53.1m for the quarter, reported Reuters.
Troubled Dutch retail giant Ahold owns a 73% stake in Schuitema, which operates the C1000 chain in the Netherlands.
