Dutch supermarket giant Albert Heijn yesterday [Wednesday] opened a convenience store under the “AH to go” banner in the Academisch Medisch Centrum (AMC) teaching hospital in Amsterdam.

The company revealed that the new store represents its plan to extend its supermarket chain through convenience stores that carry produce tailored specifically for staff and students in teaching hospitals and universities.
Albert Heijn currently operates 22 convenience stores throughout the Netherlands. It has one other “AH to go” located in a teaching hospital, the Academisch Ziekenhuis in Groningen.
