Dutch potato starch producer Avebe has unveiled a new strategy it claims will further establish itself as a ‘solutions provider’ to the food industry.

The group will focus more closely on its core activities or potato starches and modified tapioca starches create global competence centres for its core market segments. A globally operating company focused solely on food will be created to coordinate all the activities surrounding the extraction and application of these two major raw materials, the group said.

Avebe said it will devote extra investment into application facilities and specialists. It aims to up its technical knowledge to enable its teams to react more efficiently to specific technical requests from customers.

The group has also unveiled a new mission statement: ‘Your Natural Partner In Food’. It aims to ensure that production facilities are well distributed so that customers are never too far away from a facility to meet their needs.

“With these important plans AVEBE wants to bring its vision into practice that market orientation and customer intimacy are, next to technical  and application ‘know-how’, the crucial factors to form partnerships that result in high added value for its customers” said Pieter Krijne, Chief  Executive Officer of AVEBE.
