The company unveiled the new facility, located in Merksem, Belgium, yesterday (27 November).


The opening of the site follows CSM’s launch of Optinature, a range of margarines and melanges for the bakery sector.


“We aim to be the first in mind of our customers when it comes to creativity, innovation and problem solving in bakery supplies,” said CSM CEO Gerard Hoetmer. “The new CSM Innovation Center for bakery margarines is an important step in further building our position as a global market leader.”


CSM’s three other innovation sites focus on frozen bakery products, bakery ingredients and sweet ingredients.
