Dansk, which generated a 2001 turnover of over DKK38bn (US$5bn), insisted that it is not for sale, but majority shareholder AP Moller is allegedly considering whether to sell its stake.
According to Danish newspaper Borsen, Ahold had requested that it is the first to be notified if the stake does become available.
