The company today (1 April) booked a 7% rise in sales for the three months to the end of March. Net sales inched up from EUR366.1m (US$573.44m) to EUR368.1m.

The increase in like-for-like sales came as Super de Boer continued to streamline its business. The company’s store network stands at 313 stores, compared to 358 outlets a year ago.

“The strong growth in like-for-like sales shows that the individual Super de Boer stores are performing better and better,” said CEO Jan Brouwer. “Super de Boer is moving in the right direction.”

In the last 18 months, Super de Boer has undergone something of an overhaul, selling its Edah and Konmar stores, consolidating its distribution network and cutting head office jobs.
