Laurus explained that the streamlining of its operations meant that of the lost jobs, 72 would be redundancies while the remainder disappeared due to natural attrition. The cuts will primarily affect support staff working in Laurus’ offices and at the company’s regional distribution centre in Heerenveen.
Laurus currently ranks as the second biggest food retailer in the Netherlands.
