In a statement released today (29 August) the retail chain acknowledged the contribution Bruijniks had made to the struggling company’s ongoing attempt to revive its fortunes, including overseeing the disposal of the Edah and Konmar banners.

“The supervisory board continues to foresee a strong future for Super de Boer. However, a difference of opinion has arisen regarding the way this future should be shaped. For this reason, the supervisory board is of the opinion that this process should occur under new leadership. The resignation, therefore, has no connection with the company’s financial position,” the board said.

A.M.F.J. van de Laar has been appointed interim CEO. At a shareholder meeting in October the new CEO will be appointed.
