Mehra will be responsible for purchasing, manufacturing and logistics (operations). Mehra joined Numico on 1 October 2002. During the presentation of the half-year results, the improvement of the organisation structure was highlighted and the streamlining of operating efficiency (supply points and logistics) was identified as one of the focus points for the short term.
The appointment will be proposed to an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to be held in mid-December.
Mehra studied engineering at Trinity College Cambridge. He started his career at Mars in the UK as production manager and later as senior purchasing manager Europe. After ten years, he moved to France to work for the Danone Group based in Paris. His most recent position was vice president operations of the Dairy Division of Danone, in which he was responsible for purchasing, manufacturing and supply chain for the Dairy Division worldwide.
