Sales for the group totalled EUR2.17bn (US$2.8m), an increase of EUR102m from the same period in 2007.
Organic growth in the group’s sales amounted to 6.4% in 2008.
In food retail, like-for-like consumer sales growth grew by 4.1%, with retail sales held back by changes in the store mix.
The opening of new stores was offset by the transfer of supermarkets to Spar Holding, in which the group has a 45% interest, and third parties.
