Dutch supermarket operator and wholesaler Sligro has acquired a stake in grocery ecommerce operation Superdirect.com.
A spokesperson for the retailer confirmed to just-food today (16 January) it has purchased a 25% stake in the online operator. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

It is understood Sligro will act as a “main supplier” to Superdirect, which is currently in the process of starting up operations. The company will have a distribution centre in Barendrecht in the west of the Netherlands.
The retailer last week booked a like-for-like net sales increase of 1.9% for the 12 months to the end of December.
