Dutch food and nutrition group Numico has said that Bill Watts would step down from the company’s supervisory board as he had expressed a possible interest in acquiring Numico’s US food supplement chain GNC in partnership with a US venture capital firm.

Numico said that no decision regarding a possible sale of GNC, of which Watts is a former chief executive, had yet been taken, reported Reuters.


In March, Numico CEO Jan Bennick said that a divestment of GNC was not a foregone conclusion but was likely.
