The executive board of Dutch food group Koninklijke Wessanen has announced that an agreement has been reached with Hügli, Switzerland, on acquiring 29.35% of the shares of branded natural and health food products supplier and distributor Natudis.

With this purchase Wessanen increases its stake from 41.30% to 70.65%. The remaining shares will remain in the ownership of Nico Broersen, managing director of Natudis.
Natudis, which has brands such as Natufood, De Rit, Ekoland and Molenaartje, recorded 2002 sales of approximately €67m (US$71.3m).
This transaction is subject to approval of the relevant competition authorities.
