Vierstra assumes the responsibilities of his new position on 1 January 2005. He started his career in 1985 at Unilever and held various financial management positions in the Netherlands, Thailand, Denmark and the United Kingdom. In 2000 Vierstra returned to the Netherlands and joined dairy products firm Koninklijke Friesland Foods as chief financial officer and a member of the management board.


Vierstra succeeds Koos Kramer, who, after more than 11 years at Wessanen, will leave the company.
