Campbell Soup has sold the Papua New Guinea operations of its wholly owned subsidiary, Arnott’s, to Australian food group Goodman Fielder.


The Papua New Guinea business of Arnott’s manufactures biscuits, cereal and noodle products under the Paradise, Morobeen, Arrow, and Gold Nuggets brand names.


Campbell said that the sale was in line with its global strategy, adding that it hopes to increase its focus on key growth markets in the Asia Pacific region including Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia.


The sale includes two manufacturing plants and warehouses in Port Moresby and Lae. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
