Meat producer board Meat New Zealand has appointed Mark Jeffries as its new chief executive officer.

In early April, Jeffries will take over from current CEO Neil Taylor, who has held the position for six years.
Meat NZ chairman Jeff Grant said Jeffries had a strong background in farm management systems.
Jeffries is currently group general manager of information for the genetic research group Livestock Improvement Corporation, and spent ten years as executive officer for the Australian Dairy Herd Improvement Scheme, reported the New Zealand Press Association.
