US start-up Nomva is ramping up distribution of its probiotic smoothie products, which have now secured GMO-free certified status. 

The company said that it will now carry the official Non-GMO Project verification seal on its packaging, which has been redesigned to reflect the news. Nomva’s products are already made from USDA-certified organic ingredients. 

Nomva, which has been operating for one year, has also secured listings with Target, Ralphs and Sprouts stores throughout the west coast of the US. The company already sells its products through Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, and Jimbo’s. 
 
“As the everyday consumers’ lives get busier, they continue seeking convenient, healthy and well-balanced food options. This demand has spread to top retailers like Target, Ralphs and Sprouts, who recognise the value in Nomva to fill this very real need,” explained Nomva co-founders Caroline Beckman and Nina Church. 

Nomva’s probiotic smoothies include flavours such as applestack, everberry, kale yeah, strawnana and tropicarrot. Nomva smoothies retail for a recommended price of US$3.99. 

In February of this year, Nomva completed a $3m-financing round that attracted investment from Evolution Media Capital and fresh-cut vegetable producer Taylor Farms.
