Norway’s competition watchdog Konkurransetilsynet has given the go-ahead to the merger of poultry product distributor Cardinal Foods and Den Stolte Hane, part of the dairy group Synnove Finden.
Norway’s competition watchdog Konkurransetilsynet has given the go-ahead to the merger of poultry product distributor Cardinal Foods and Den Stolte Hane, part of the dairy group Synnove Finden.
The authority based its decision on the fact that the merger will create a rival to Prior, which has a 65% share of the Norwegian poultry market, Norwegian reports say.
After the merger Cardinal Foods, which will comprise of Norsk Kylling, Den Stolte Hane and Arne Magnussen, will have a 35% market share.
