Norwegian dairy group Tine has recalled 8,800 litres of apple juice in cartons after it was discovered to have been accidentally mixed with buttermilk.
Tine said the cartons were all sold in the central Norwegian region of Trondelag and that a small amount of the buttermilk, known in Norway as Kefir, had been mixed with the juice.
The problem was caused by a production failure in Tine’s plant at Tunga, near Trondheim. The cartons had an April 29, 2008 sell-by date.
