David Carnes, previously senior supply executive for Aker Solutions, will take up the position in March 2009.
His responsibilities will include development and implementation of policies for human resources, health, safety and the environment, corporate social responsibility and corporate sourcing.
In a bid to strengthen management, the company has made a number of changes to the structure of its group management team, which will comprise of CEO, CFO, director corporate development, director group operations and managing directors for Marine Harvest Norway, Marine Harvest Chile and Marine Harvest VAP Europe.
In addition, the CEO has the three direct reports: communication director, technical director and VP strategic marketing.
