The launch sees the brand enter its fourth market in the Nordic region, following its debut in Sweden in 2004.
Jakob Knudsen, the executive responsible for Ben & Jerry’s in the region, said consumers had driven the move to launch the brand in Norway.
“There was huge consumer demand. We’ve had a lot of e-mails asking when Ben & Jerry’s would arrive in Norway,” Knudsen said. “Unilever does not have an ice cream business in Norway, so that is why the launch was a bit more problematic.”
Ben & Jerry’s will first appear in the 7-Eleven and Deli de Luca convenience store chains in Norway, Knudsen said.
