A packaging defect has forced National Foods to voluntarily recall a number of its Yoplait Go-Gurt and Smackers products in New Zealand.

According to the company, the defect could be a choking hazard for young children as there was a risk of clear plastic film separating from the outside of the tube.
National Foods said the recall was a precautionary measure, as the risk to consumers remained low.
Products covered by the recall include all best-before dates to 27 September 2008. Yoplait Go-Gurt flavours being recalled are: Spiders, Strawberry and Fruit Salad and Raspberry and Apricot.
Yoplait Smackers varieties included are: Smackers, Strawberry and Peach and Pineapple.
