Orkla has invested SEK28m (US$3.3m) to upgrade its jam production facility in Tollarp, Sweden.

The company said the investment in the facility was the "largest in the modern era". The company manufactures jams under the Felix, Önos, BOB, Den Gamle Fabrik brands at the site.

Commenting on the move. a spokesperson for the group told just-food: "We will achieve a more efficient boiling process, improved safety for operators and maintenance personnel, reduced maintenance costs, reduced energy consumption and greater opportunities to make adjustments to the product during the process."

The company said it will hold a formal inauguration for the upgrades at the site tomorrow (28 October). Patrik Andersson, CEO of Orkla's foods business in Sweden, will be showcasing the new line, discussing the investment project and cutting the ribbon.
