US business Vintage Italia, the company behind pasta snacks brand Pasta Chips, has received financing from Silas Capital, a private-equity group that invests in firms in the early stages of their development.

Vintage Italia said it had got "new growth equity financing" from Silas Capital. Details of the transaction were undisclosed.

"The capital will be used to accelerate the growth of the Pasta Chips brand by expanding distribution, introducing new products and engaging with snackers everywhere," Vintage Italia said.

Pasta Chips finished its first full year of business in 2014 with "significant sales", the company added, without providing figures. Vintage Italia said the brand is "on track to double sales in 2015" and by the end of this year the snacks "will be in 80% of all grocery stores across the United States".
