PepsiCo has rolled out a line of caldo – a porridge-style product – in the Philippines under its Quaker brand.
The US group has launched Quaker Instant Oats Caldo to offer a more convenient version of a food popular in the Asian country but one which consumers find “difficult and time-consuming to prepare”, it said.

“The instant category is relatively small but, given the popularity of caldo in the Philippines, we see a big opportunity for growth in the instant caldo category. Caldo is a local favourite in the Philippines and at the moment most caldo is homemade. Quaker Instant Caldo provides convenience to families across the Philippines.”
Caldo is eaten as a snack at any time of the day, not just for breakfast.
PepsiCo’s new product is available in two flavours – Chicken Mushroom and Beef & Carrot.
