PepsiCo has moved to add to the range of cracker products it sells in the UK with the first line sold under flagship snacks brand Walkers.
The US food and drinks giant said it is launching two baked products – Crispy and Melty Crackers. The snacks are sold in 130g bags and have an RSP of GBP1.49 (US$2.28).
The crispy crackers will be available in two flavours – cheddar cheese and salt and vinegar. The “soft and melty” variety will also come in two varieties – sweet chilli, plus sour cream and onion.
Citing Nielsen data for 2015, PepsiCo said crackers were one of the fastest-growing segments in the UK savoury snacks market.
The launch is the first time PepsiCo has sold crackers in the UK under its core snacks brand Walkers. However, the company does already have crackers in its portfolio under two other sub-brands – Sensations and Sunbites.
