The company said the move will create 120 new jobs at the Killingly facility.

PepsiCo’s plan is to expand the existing manufacturing facility and warehouse and to add two new Cheetos snacks manufacturing lines. This is the first time Cheetos will be manufactured by Frito-Lay in Connecticut.

The building expansion is set to begin in spring 2022 and the project is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2024.

Frito-Lay’s Killingly site began operations in 1980 with 200 employees and it now employs approximately 740 full-time workers at the site.

Laura Maxwell, senior vice president of supply chain for the group’s PepsiCo Foods North America business, said: “We have been a proud member of the Killingly community for more than 40 years and look forward to expanding our footprint and bringing more jobs.

“It’s only with the support of the teams at the local and state level that this project has been able to come to fruition.
