Perdue Farms, the US chicken processor, has insisted it is not for sale after recieving an unspecified number of approaches from would-be suitors.

In an interview with Bloomberg, chairman Jim Perdue said that the company has received interest from US and international food companies.

Family owned Perdue, the third-largest US chicken producer, is not for sale however. "We have no plans to sell," a spokesperson told just-food. The company declined to comment further.
