Nestle has recalled its beef and chicken flavoured Maggi Mami instant noodles in the Philippines after finding traces of salmonella in two beef-flavoured batches.

In an ad placed in the Philippines press, the company said on Wednesday (4 April) that the recall is a “precautionary measure being taken to ensure the safety and quality of our products”.

Nestle said that initial findings suggest that flavouring ingredients have been the cause of the contamination and that it has stopped production of all Maggi Rich Mami Noodles pending the completion of the investigation.
