The deal, which will increase the number of Ahold hypermarket stores in Poland to twenty-six, is expected to be finalised later this year once regulatory approval is obtained.
Ahold Polska plans to change the name of the “Jumbo” hypermarkets to “Hypernova” to fit in with its other Polish hypermarkets. As well as the hypermarkets, the company has 150 “Albert” supermarkets and discount food outlets.
