The proposed sale of Poland’s Silesian Sugar Company (Slaska Spolka Cukrowa) to French group Saint-Louis Sucre (SLS), has been halted by the Polish interior minister after errors were discovered in the purchase application form


Ireneusz Wilk revealed that SLS had submitted forms that said it wanted to purchase the entire enterprise. This appears to be impossible, however, because the Silesian Sugar Company consists of several separate sugar plants, and different purchase permits are required for each operation.
