Polish confectioner LU Polska has announced plans to lay off 463 employees as a result of weak consumer demand for its products.

The company also said it would transfer production from its Jaroslaw facility to Plonsk, as only 30% of the production capacity of the Jaroslaw facility is currently being used.
LU Polska, which has a 30% share of the Polish biscuits market, posted a loss for the first half of 2003, reported the Polish News Digest.
