Retail giant Tesco has undertaken a review of its Polish operations that may result in potential job losses across its facilities.
The changes, which will impact Tesco’s store network, distribution and regional operations, could result in changes to some employees’ responsibilities, moves between departments and, “in a small number of cases, mean some roles become redundant”, the retailer said in a statement.

Reports have suggested around 3,000 jobs could be affected, although a spokesperson for Tesco told just-food the number reported was incorrect. She said it was too early to give a definite number.
The UK retailer currently employs around 28,500 staff across Poland and operates 420 stores.
“Affected staff will be offered alternative roles where possible and will be supported in a respectful manner throughout. The changes will not affect customer service levels at stores and we will continue to open new stores and create new jobs,” Tesco said.
