The Real Good Food Co has promoted David Newman to the post of finance director, with immediate effect.

Newman has served as Real Good Food's company secretary since 2010. Previously, he has worked at Dawson Group, Pirelli Group, J Mowlem & Co and Napier Brown & Co. In 2005 he became Financial Controller of Real Good Food following the company's takeover of Napier Brown.

Newman will also hold a post on Real Good Food's board.

Commenting on the appointment, Pieter Totté, executive chairman, said: "David originally joined the Napier Brown business in October 1995 as financial controller and has played a key role in the development of our financial and IT systems throughout that time. He brings to the role a wealth of experience and knowledge across the company and he will be a strong addition to the board."
