UK-based coconut milk drink maker Rebel Kitchen has launched its first food product – an organic dairy-free yoghurt.

The dairy-free yoghurt is made using organic coconuts. Rebel Kitchen says the product is lower in calories than any other coconut yoghurts on the market since it is made using the meat from young green coconuts.

Each 125g serve contains around 145 calories.

The launch of the yoghurts follows the firm’s acquisition of raw coconut water brand Unoco in January.

“The launch of our coconut yoghurt is the first product in the Rebel Kitchen range born from our acquisition of Unoco.  By using the whole coconut we ensure you can have it all in terms of sustainability and taste.  The flavours are pure and defined, and the texture is smooth and creamy like its dairy cousin. People can enjoy our range of fantastic flavours at any occasion, whether for breakfast, a snack, or as a lighter alternative to dessert. Despite the fact they contain far fewer calories than any other coconut yoghurts on the market, there is zero compromise to taste. And we continue to stick to our three simple rules, which means we don’t use refined sugar, additives or preservatives,” said founder Tamara Arbib.

The line features four variants – original, coffee, vanilla and cacao.
