Rich Products said Richard Ferranti will become chief executive of the US food group in the new year as long-time CEO Bill Gisel moves to executive vice chairman.
Ferranti is chief operating officer for the privately-own business based in Buffalo, New York, and has also held the role of president since April last year. He will take up his new position on 1 January, according to a statement on the company’s website.
Gisel said: “Richard and I have worked closely together since the start of our global expansion 30 years ago. Navigating the complex nature of a global business – especially in a diverse industry like food – is a formidable challenge. With his vast experience and exceptional leadership skills, Richard is the ideal candidate to assume this important role.”
Rich Products portfolio includes bakery, pizza, snacks and cookies, as well as other products, and counts Farm Rich and SeaPak among its brands. It supplies both the retail and foodservice channels.
From the start of January, Gisel, who has held the CEO banner since 2006, will focus on corporate strategy, long-term growth and “organisational excellence”.
