Results will be announced in April but Cherkizovo said poultry sales volumes had grown 28%, while pork volumes had more than doubled to 28,000 tonnes.


Throughout 2007, poultry sales remained positive with prices for Cherkizovo sales increasing by 18% from US$2.15kg per kg in 2006 to US$2.52 in 2007.


Pork prices rose 7% in 2007 from US$2.14 per kg in 2006 to US$2.30 per kg in 2007.


Average prices in the meat processing division increased by 15% due to a higher margin and value-added products, resulting in increased sales volumes, Cherkizovo said.

Prices increased from US$2.97 per kg in 2006 to US$3.42 per kg in 2007. Year-on-year sales volumes in the meat processing division slightly decreased by 4% due to a fall in sales of low-margin products.
