Dixy, the Russian retailer, said today (23 January) that its like-for-like sales grew by more than 20% in 2008, although growth slowed in the fourth quarter of the year.

The company posted annual like-for-like sales growth of 20.25% in rouble terms. In the fourth quarter of 2008, like-for-like sales rose by 15%.
Dixy, which runs 493 stores in Russia, reported “robust” annual revenue growth of 32% in rouble terms to RUB48.29bn (US$1.46bn). In US dollars, turnover climbed 36% to $1.94bn.
Retail revenue stood at RUB40.65bn, a jump of 28%.
During the fourth quarter of 2008, Dixy saw group revenues rise 24% to RUB13.7bn.
