Ferrero has decided to produce its Kinder Surprise brand in Russia to meet increasing local demand for the product.

The confectionery giant is to open a line for the brand at its plant in the Vladimir region of Russia, just 120 miles east of Moscow.

Until now, Kinder eggs have been imported into Russia from Italy and Poland but higher sales have led Ferrero to invest in the facility.

The new line will also cater for supplies into Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine.
