Russian retail group Seventh Continent has posted a leap in first-half revenue after a strong second quarter.

The company said today (12 July) that sales jumped 31% to US$658m for the first six months of the year. During the second quarter, revenue soared 34% to $336m.
The value of the average customer’s shopping basket at Seventh Continent outlets was up 19% on the year in the second quarter, at $12.90.
Seventh Continent increased its selling space by 16% to 145,000 square meters during the 12 months to June 30, when it had 119 supermarkets and six hypermarkets.
