The 1974 plant is the only large-scale dairy factory in Surgut. It currently has the capacity to process 65 tonnes of milk each day and, Wimm-Bill-Dann said, there is the possibility of expanding production to 120 tonnes per day. Today, the enterprise produces traditional dairy products and processes up to 30 tonnes per day.
Wimm-Bill-Dann said that the deal allows the company to gain a leading position in what it described as a “promising region”. It furthers the company’s goal of expanding in the markets of the Urals and Siberia.
The location of the production facility allows Wimm-Bill-Dann to optimise its expenditure on logistics by reducing the need to transport products between regions.
Wimm-Bill-Dann plans to begin production under its own brands at Surgut Dairy Factory in the near future, the company said.
