Yuri Kobaladze has been appointed corporate affairs managing director. He will implement X5’s corporate affairs policy and maintain relationships with state structures and government institutions. Previously, Kobaladze was major general in Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service. He has also worked at the information agency ITAR-TASS, and served as MD of the independent investment company Renaissance Capital.
Antonio Melo has been appointed chief operational officer, responsible for the retail operations of stores across the company’s various formats and the creation of an integrated logistics system. Melo has previously worked at Portuguese supermarket Supa and SHV Holding (Makro).
Other appointments include: Yulia Anokhina, director of human resources, and Teimur Shternlib, chief information officer.
