Russian grocery retailer X5 Retail Group has appointed Kirill Grodinsky as CEO of its IT business.

Grodinsky has “significant” experience in FMCG and e-commerce, the firm said today (31 January). From 2006 he served as general director of O-Courier, the major delivery channel of Ozon.ru in Moscow and St Petersburg Regions, for two years. He was then appointed as Ozon.ru’s deputy CEO and operational director in 2008.

X5’s IT business focuses on e-commerce and operates through www.bolero.ru and www.003.ru online stores.

The division posted 2010 net sales of US$20.3m and $6.9m in the fourth quarter.
