ICA AB, the Scandinavian unit of Dutch supermarket group Ahold, has appointed two new executive vice presidents and plans to recruit a third executive vice president.

The appointments are a result of the company’s new structure, which comprises three overall functions: finance, marketing and business development, and supply chain. Each of the three new executives will be in charge of one of the three functions.

“We want to continue to be a leading player in the market, therefore we have to increase the pace of change, focus on sales and cost efficiency,” said Kenneth Bengtsson, president and CEO of ICA. “We’re going to put extra effort in coordinating the operations, not least in our companies in Norway and Sweden.”

“The new group structure gives us a clearer way of working, enabling the operative companies to focus even more on sales and store operations,” said Bengtsson.
