In a statement, Topking Fingerfood said it “will continue to operate independently and under its own label”. Managing director Edwin Hak will remain in place and “therefore responsible for the daily management and strategy of the company”.

Hak added: “Topking has found a reliable and ambitious partner in Signature Foods BV. The growth strategy is being further expanded, whereby we certainly use mutual expertise. We look to the future with confidence.”

Officials for Signature Foods could not be reached for immediate comment. The company is owned by private-equity firm IK Investment Partners, which rebranded the business from Salad Signature in December 2018.
