French food and drink group Sill Entreprises has snapped up Lyon-based skyr maker Puffy’s for an undisclosed sum.
In a statement on LinkedIn, Brittany-based Sill Entreprises said the deal allows the company to “diversify in a fast-growing segment”.

Skyr, a dairy product most often associated with Iceland, is known for its high protein content and creamy texture.
Founded in 2019, Puffy’s has been described by Sill Entreprises as a “pioneer” in the French skyr market.
Michel Guigo, director of development of Sill Entreprises’ fresh dairy business, said Puffy’s range “will complement the range of dairy products and will allow us to better promote our products”.
Sill Entreprises operates in the dairy market with brands such as Malo, Le Petit Basque and Le Gall.

In a separate statement on LinkedIn, Puffy’s co-founder Gabriel Gutmann indicated he was leaving the business and wished “the greatest success” to the company’s new owners.
“Wonderful projects are underway, and I can’t wait to see what’s next,” Gutmann said. “It’s time for me to treat myself to a real break, before coming back inspired and ready for new adventures.”
Beyond dairy, Sill Entreprises is active in frozen ready meals and the French soups market through its La Potagère brand. In 2024, the company generated a turnover of €650m ($709.5m).
