Singapore conglomerate Fraser & Neave (F&N) has appointed Danone executive Pascal de Petrini as the new chief executive for its food and drink operations.

De Petrini will join F&N in October after 27 years at Danone, where he leads the company’s baby nutrition business in Asia-Pacific.

He will replace Koh Poh Tiong, who will retire from the company at the end of September.

Poh Tiong can boast 26 years of service, first with Asia Pacific Breweries (APB), and in the last three years with F&N.

APB is the Singapore-based brewing joint-venture between Fraser & Neave and Heineken.

While Poh Tiong was CEO of F&N’s food and beverage business, he led the expansion of the company’s dairy business beyond Malaysia, the company said. F&N’s dairy business “built strong foundations in Thailand and extended its footprint in IndoChina”, it added.
