In an unusual protest against the rising consumer demand for shark fin soup, s Singapore couple have got married in a shark-filled tank.

Blushing bride Julia Khoo, who tied the knot with Lester Kwok at Underwater world aquarium on Singapore’s Sentosa Island, said that demand for the soup is leading to the decimation of the shark population.
Khoo, who used to eat shark’s fin soup but stopped after she became aware of the effect on sharks, added: “We wanted to do something different and help raise consciousness of the environment.”
About fifty wedding guests watched the ceremony, during which the couple flashed “Yes, I do” cards at each other, from a glass tunnel in the aquarium.
The controversial soup, made with fins that fishermen cut off before throwing the mutilated sharks back into the water, is often served at Chinese weddings.
