Intentia has announced the successful go-live of its Movex Collaboration Applications at Tasty Bite Eatables Limited (TBEL), a leading producer of a range of ready-to-eat (RTE) products in India and the US. TBEL recently became the largest selling Indian food brand in the natural foods category in the US.
As a pioneer in the Asian RTE industry, Tasty Bite faced the challenge of creating a market for RTE food products in India, a market with a fixation for freshly prepared food, as well as establishing itself as the leader of that market.
With these challenges in mind, TBEL forged a partnership with Intentia South Asia in September 1999. The partnership took shape during the early stages of TBEL’s operation when the company’s main objective was to adopt efficient business practices and streamline its business processes across its operations. Additionally, as TBEL was in the process of setting up a distribution network in India, the company also needed to design sales, distribution and order fulfilment processes for the domestic market.
Since the company hadn’t had an IT infrastructure in place prior to Movex, all its business processes had to be designed from scratch. The team of Movex professionals from Intentia South Asia designed and implemented solutions for the following types of processes: distribution, order fulfilment, manufacturing, procurement, quality control, tactical management, production, management and financial management.
Collaboration is always a key issue and a driver in efficient supply chain management, but it is particularly vital in highly competitive industries that are characterized by low margins and a wide variety of products and sectors that are continuously evolving to satisfy changing consumer preferences.
